COURSE: Introduction to Interactive Media Technologies Design Process COURSE DESCRIPTION: "An introduction to interactive multimedia technology with a focus on interdisciplinary, project based, cooperative learning. Students will be immersed in the protocols and processes of the Interactive Media Technologies design process: idea development, presentation, prototyping, and production, which will serve them in the face of rapid changes in technology. Students will explore basic theoretical and applied concepts of audio, visual, tactile and interactive design through creative group projects, visiting professionals, and on-line documentation of their work."
Design Process is a foundational course for Bachelor of Technology candidates pursing a BTech in Emerging Media Technologies. This degree is offered under the department of Entertainment Technology at the New York City College of Technology.
"The BTech in Emerging Media Technologies is a highly interdisciplinary four-year degree that integrates media design, computing and engineering. The first year provides comprehensive overviews and hands-on experiences in digital, tangible and interactive media. In the second year students elect one of three Concentrations: Media Design, Media Computing or Entertainment Engineering. Concentrations include coursework offered in participating departments, including Computer Engineering, Computer Systems, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, and Architectural Technology.
